Fresh Air Conditioner VS Fresh Air System

Fresh Air Conditioner VS Fresh Air System

Every households use air conditioner to cool down the temperature in the hot weather. Is it necessary to install another fresh air unit or system in the house?

The fresh air air conditioner simply means adding a fresh air module to the air conditioner, simply filtering the outdoor air, and sending it indoors after cooling or heating to achieve the so-called "fresh air" effect, but the fresh air is only an additional function of the machine after all. The main function is to adjust the temperature.

As a professional ventilation and ventilation equipment, although the role of the fresh air system in temperature regulation is limited, its main function is to improve air cleanliness. Therefore, the two are not interchangeable.

Fresh Air Volume

The most basic function of the fresh air system is ventilation. Through fans and independent new and exhaust systems, fresh outdoor air is continuously introduced, and dirty indoor air is discharged to realize indoor and outdoor air circulation. When purchasing a new fan with a suitable air volume, it can meet the fresh air purification needs of the whole house and provide clean and oxygen-rich air for the whole family.

At present, most of the fresh air conditioners on the market are single-room hanging air conditioners, and the fresh air volume is concentrated at 40-80m³/h, which can only cover one room and meet the fresh air demand of 1-2 people. In addition, in order to achieve the advertised fresh air volume, the 6cm aperture reserved for traditional air conditioning installation is not enough, and it needs to be enlarged to reduce the loss of fresh air and achieve lower noise.

Purification Function

In the fresh air system, the filter device is particularly important. Most of the fresh air systems are equipped with two or more filters with different functions. For example, the BROAD fresh air system is equipped with three-stage filtration of "coarse-efficiency filter + electrostatic precipitator + H13 high-efficiency filter".

Affected by the size of the air conditioner model, the fresh air air conditioner cannot be equipped with a large-sized and high-precision filter screen. The fresh air introduced is only sent into the room after a superficial filter. Once the outdoor air quality is poor, the purification effect of the fresh air air conditioner will be reduced. Very limited.

At present, many fresh air conditioners advertise that there are four to six-stage filters, which seem to be powerful, but in fact, it includes the dust cover of the air conditioner itself. The filter level is low and the dust holding capacity is limited. Only the first-level HEPA filter can filter fine particles. Due to the heavy burden and short service life of the HEPA filter, it needs to be replaced frequently, and the later use cost also increases.

Energy Saving Effect

When it comes to the cost of later use, another thing that cannot be ignored is the power consumption of the machine, which is also the focus of consumers when purchasing electrical appliances.

The fresh air system needs to be turned on for 24 hours to purify the air in the whole house. In order to save energy, the current high-end fresh air system is equipped with a total heat exchanger, which can recover the heat or cold energy in the exhaust air to supply fresh air, so that the air coming in from the outside is closer. The indoor temperature and humidity ensure that the indoor personnel feel comfortable and will not cause too much pressure on the air conditioner. Taking the BROAD fresh air system as an example, the heat recovery efficiency of the total heat exchanger can reach up to 80%. It can be turned on 24 hours a day and only needs 1-2 kWh of electricity, saving energy to the greatest extent.

The fresh air conditioner is a one-way flow product, that is, "forced air supply + natural exhaust air", which uses positive pressure to bring fresh air into the room, and "squeezes" out the dirty air in the room through the gaps of doors and windows. The indoor air that has reached a comfortable temperature is directly discharged, and the indoor cooling or heat is also lost. The incoming fresh air needs to undergo a series of cooling or heating treatments again, which leads to an increase in the workload of the air conditioner and a very high power consumption, which is not conducive to energy saving.

Generally speaking, machine noise is affected by factors such as outdoor sound source, fan power, and aperture size. When using the air conditioner and fresh air, there is no need to open windows for ventilation, which can effectively isolate the outdoor noise. Therefore, the noise mainly comes from the machine itself and the wind speed of the air duct.

The fresh air system will be equipped with thick mute materials, which are quiet in operation and have a low sense of presence, and are generally installed on the ceiling or balcony of the kitchen, bathroom, and far away from the living room. At the same time of demand, it can effectively control noise without affecting daily life.

The fresh air conditioner is generally installed in the bedroom, and the running volume is slightly larger, which will affect sleep. If the air conditioner is not installed with reaming, it will inevitably squeeze the cross-sectional area of the fresh air duct. A thinner duct means that the fresh air volume delivered per unit time will decrease. To ensure a suitable fresh air volume, it is necessary to increase the air outlet speed. This will inevitably lead to noise problems.

To sum up, fish and bear's paw cannot have both.

Although the fresh air conditioner has the function of fresh air, it cannot completely solve the problem of indoor air quality, and the fresh air system will not affect the indoor temperature too much when improving the indoor air quality. As far as the current technology is concerned, the forced combination of fresh air and air conditioning functions will only increase consumption and reduce work efficiency.

Therefore, if the budget is sufficient, it is recommended that you install an air conditioner and a professional fresh air system separately. Using the two together can not only maintain a comfortable temperature, but also enjoy clean air and create a more comfortable home environment.
